As of Monday, February 28 Island Health’s regular COVID-19 immunization clinics will shift from vaccinating people of all ages to focus on children age 5-11. Appointments are required.
Vaccinations for people aged 12+ will take place at community pharmacies. Participating pharmacies are registered with the GetVaccinated system so you can make an appointment through the provincial online portal or call centre.
Anyone 12 or older, and six months from their Dose 2, is eligible for their booster. Please book your appointment today or call the provincial call centre if you need assistance at 1-833-838-2323.
With so many pharmacies available across the region, you can search by how close a pharmacy is to your postal code or by city/town. If you don’t see available appointments at the closest pharmacy, expand the search to within 50km of your postal code.
Intermittent all-ages clinics will continue to be held in remote communities or areas without participating pharmacies.
To make an appointment for newly approved Novavax or Medicago vaccines please call 1-833-838-2323 to be added to the waitlist. You will be notified when those vaccines are available in B.C.
Clinic hours of operation will continue to be adjusted to reflect local needs.
Children and adults must be registered in the Get Vaccinated system in order to make an appointment. Anyone living in Island Health is welcome, including those without personal health numbers and/or people who are not residents of B.C. Book your appointment online at gov.bc.ca/getvaccinated
Make your appointment as convenient as possible:
- Eat something and hydrate before coming to the clinic
- Wear loose clothing, and ensure layers are easy-to-remove
- Do not arrive more than 5 minutes early for your appointment
- Bring your booking confirmation and photo ID
- Respect the personal space of others inside the clinic
- Do not call the clinics or sites directly
- Find answers to questions about the vaccine and immunization process on Island Health’s vaccine page, the BC Government’s COVID-19 vaccination website, the BC Centre for Disease Control website and ImmunizeBC section on frequently asked questions.
